Testimonials
“I encountered Rain Maher at a private club of which I was a member where I attended a yoga class run by her. I was sufficiently impressed by her teaching to engage her to give me private lessons in my home.
Rain showed in-depth knowledge of yoga which she combined with a genuine enthusiasm for the subject. She was kind and considerate, took account of my special needs and worked out a programme individually tailored to my requirements. The yoga sessions provided real benefit for my general well-being. She proved to be a very good teacher. I would unhesitatingly recommend her both as a teacher and as a person.”

Brief History of Yoga

Yoga means "to yoke".
Yoga is the union of the body, mind and spirit. It is a series of techniques which help you to maintain a balance in all areas of your life. Initially created and only practiced by holy men in India thousands of years ago, it has become a staple in the lives of men and women worldwide.
Yoga was first introduced to the West in the early 20th Century. However, it was in the 60's it made it's impact and has been growing ever since. Yoga utilises asanas (physical postures), pranayama (breathing techniques), meditation and relaxation to help the student to create physical, mental and emotional well being.
